Dr. Zhang Wentao, male, was born in the Cheng county, Gansu province in 1983. He is an associate professor and a master supervisor in history. He got his bachelor degree from the history department of Northwest Normal University, and received his master’s and doctor’s degree from School of history of Beijing Normal University. His research area includes Chinese modern history education ideological and cultural studies. In recent years his academic interests are modern textbooks and the construction of national general thoughts and beliefs world, Chinese fascism and Kuomintang ideology, class concept and political culture of the two parties, social science discourse and national image in modern China.

He presided over many scientific research projects such as the Youth Project of National Social Science Fund. He published more than twenty papers inJournal of Historiography, Party History Research and Teaching, Journal of Humanities, Journal of the Theory of Political Thought, etc. In addition, he has published nearly 20 academic reviews in publications such asYue Hai Feng andCai Jing. He won many awards, such as academic new talent award for doctoral students of the Ministry of Education (2012), the first graduate student national scholarship, Beijing normal university outstanding graduates, the third prize of philosophy and social sciences of Yangzhou, the national second history teaching master's teaching contest prize of excellent teachers, master of education in Jiangsu province practice innovation ability contest prize of excellent teachers (2017, 2018), etc. His doctoral dissertation was awarded the excellent doctoral dissertation of Beijing Normal University (2014).
