Dr.Liu Xiuhong was born in Gaotang County, Shandong Province in 1972. She holds a PhD in history and is currently an associate professor at the School of Social Development of Yangzhou University. She is mainly engaged in modern social security history, gender and social security policy research. She has presided over 4 scientific research projects including the Humanities and Social Sciences Planning Project of the Ministry of Education and the Philosophy and Social Science Research Projects of Universities in Jiangsu Province. She has successively published 20 papers in such journals as " Population & Economics", "Journal of Socialist Theory Guide", "Theory Monthly", "Journal of Yangzhou University (Humanities and Social Sciences Edition)", "Journal of Anhui Normal University" (Humanities and Social Sciences Edition), "Historiography Research in Anhui", ”Collection of Women's Studies”, ”Lanzhou Academic Journal”and so on. She published a monograph, "The Social Security System for Labors in the Period of Nanjing National Government (1927-1937)".
