1.Objectives

Students should systematically master the basic theories of Marxist philosophy,understand relevant research progress at home and abroad, have a solid knowledge of relevant disciplines,and be creatively engaged in the propaganda, teaching and research of philosophy; have the spirit of theoretical innovation and be able to use the positions,viewpoints and methods of Marxist philosophy to analyze and solve real problems.

2.Research Direction

(1)Research on the basic theories and practical problems of Marxist philosophy:Studying the basic theories of Marxist philosophy and the values embodied in the combination with the development of contemporary society; studying the philosophical spirit of the original Marxist philosophy and the social critical methods of Marxist philosophy, using Marxist philosophy to explore a series of issues such as the construction of a harmonious society, human survival and social development.

(2)Studies in Culture Philosophy:Studying issues related to Marxist philosophy and cultural philosophy, including objects ,themes, and principles of construction of cultural philosophy; Studying the consistency and conflict between Marxist philosophy and the spirit of Chinese traditional culture, the criticism of traditional cultural patterns, and the significance and value of many issues such as the transformation of today's dominant culture and the reconstruction of the spirit of new culture.

(3)Studies in Political Philosophy：Studying the related issues of Marxist philosophy and political philosophy, and discussing the core concepts of political philosophy such as justice, equality, freedom, democracy and public interest, as well as the relationship between freedom and order,democracy and power, procedure and legitimacy; Using Marxist philosophy to comment on genre such as liberalism, conservatism,and communitarianism.

(4)Research on technology philosophy and technical ethics: Studying the issues related to Marxist philosophy and technology philosophy,mainly involving the natural, scientific and ethical views of Marxism;studying human understanding of nature and its laws and ways of thinking, exploring a series of issues related to science and technology, human existence, social development and ethics under the guidance of Marxism.

4.Course Description

(1)Fundamental research on Marxist philosophy:This course systematically teaches the concepts,categories and principles of Marxist philosophy,based on academic frontiers,systematically introduces the research results of academic circles at home and abroad,so that students can master the basic theories of Marxist philosophy, pay attention to the research progress of the academic world, and emphasize the"problem consciousness."and"the consciousness of the times", using philosophical theory to answer real-life questions. The course focuses on"fundamentality"and"guidance", "theoretical property"and"humanity","practicalness"and"innovativeness", laying a solid theoretical foundation for students to study and do research on Marxist philosophy.

(2)Studies in Original Works of Marxist Philosophy: This course lists some representative philosophical works of Marx, Engels, and Lenin, such as Manuscript of Economics and Philosophy in 1844, Theses on Feuerbach,German ideology,Ludwig Feuerbach and the end of German classical philosophy, Dialectics of Nature, Capital, Origin of the Family, Private Ownership and State, Materialism and empiricism, Note on Philosophy, etc.Through reading and explaining these texts, students can understand the original meaning of the classic works of Marxist philosophy, correct the misunderstanding,cultivate students'good style of respecting the text and respecting historical facts,and further study,research and apply the solid theoretical foundation laid by Marxist Philosophy.

(3)Monographic Study of History of Marxist Philosophy：

The course systematically teaches the history of the emergence and development of Marxist philosophy and its developmental regularity.The main theoretical issues are about the origin of Marxist philosophy and the reflection of philosophical texts,the development of clues, the interpretation of development characteristics, and the understanding of future development.By exploring the historical process of its development, it demonstrates the era content,national atmosphere and personality characteristics of its development,embodying the spiritual essence of Marxist philosophy,revealing its rich content and development law, and demonstrating the organic unity of its philosophical personality and philosophical theory, and comprehending the theoretical character of advancing with the times.
